The event may be over, but donations are still accepted to help advance SYNGAP1 research at cureSYNGAP1.org/Donate.
Julie Miles is the mother of three children, including their oldest, Miller, who was diagnosed with SYNGAP1-related disorders in 2020. Julie has been the lead organizer of the Scramble for Syngap fundraiser for four straight years. In addition, Julie is a member of CURE SYNGAP1’s Board of Trustees as well as CURE SYNGAP1 State Ambassador for South Carolina.
Our community came together for a day of golf, giving, and gratitude at the 4th Annual Scramble for Syngap! This annual event not only brings friends and families together for a fun day on the course, but also raises vital funds and awareness for CURE SYNGAP1, helping us take meaningful steps toward a brighter future for all those affected by SYNGAP1-related disorders.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, we teed off under cool, crisp autumn skies at Greer Golf in Greer, South Carolina. It was a picture-perfect fall morning filled with sunshine, blue skies, and the kind of energy that makes this event such a special tradition year after year.
As golfers arrived, they were greeted with smiles at registration and treated to a warm Chick-fil-A breakfast, generously catered by Chick-fil-A of Greer. We’re so grateful for their continued partnership and delicious start to the day.
After check-in and breakfast, golfers headed out to the range for some practice swings and pre-round chatter. Before the tournament began, we gathered for opening announcements and a heartfelt message from event chair, Julie Miles, who reminded everyone of the true purpose behind the day – supporting those living with SYNGAP1 and the families who love them.
At 8:30 AM, the golfers were off, enjoying a beautiful morning on the course full of great shots, laughter, and connection.

This year, we were excited to welcome Pin High Golf to the course for a fun contest hole, featuring golf pro Victoria Huskey Carr. The challenge was a huge hit, adding a competitive (and charitable) twist to the round.
After the final putts dropped, everyone gathered back at the clubhouse for a catered lunch from White Wine & Butter. A big thank you to their team for the delicious food and friendly service. Lunch was followed by our awards ceremony, door prizes, and contest winner announcements, wrapping up the day with plenty of smiles and celebration.
In total, this year’s Scramble brought together 84 golfers, 9 SYNGAP1 families, and 5 amazing Syngapians. Together, we raised over $33,000 for CURE SYNGAP1.
A huge thank you goes out to our incredible sponsors, whose generosity makes this event possible, and to our dedicated volunteers, who donated their time, energy, and flexibility to make the day run seamlessly. And of course, thank you to Greer Golf for hosting us and supporting this mission.
Every swing, every smile, and every shared moment brings us one step closer to a cure.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to the course in 2026 – details, dates, and registration information coming soon!
