Treasurer, CURE SYNGAP1 Board of Trustees
Brian C. Smith is an engineer with expertise in operational efficiency, contract negotiations, and delivering large complex integrated automation projects globally. He holds a degree from Kettering University and an MBA from Grand Valley State University. His career includes leadership roles at Amazon, Dollar Tree and currently Tractor Supply Co., where he is focused on optimizing systems and processes.
Brian lives in Virginia Beach with his wife of 15 years, Melissa, and their four children, ages 11, 9, 7 and 5. Their youngest child, Matthew, was diagnosed with SYNGAP1-Related Disorders (SRD) in March 2024 at the age of four. Inspired by Matthew’s needs, Brian joined the Board of Trustees of the CURE SYNGAP1 to advance research into SRD. Through CURE SYNGAP1, he aims to support discoveries that improve the lives of his son and everyone affected by this condition and all who care for and love them.
