John is the grand uncle of Kiera Lipman, who was diagnosed with SYNGAP1-Related Disorders in 2021. John has been involved with and raised money for the CURE SYNGAP1 Gala honoring Caren Leib. He worked for more than four decades in the Transportation and Logistics industry, most of which with $1.7B Pilot Freight Services where he ultimately served as President & Chief Commercial Officer.
After retiring, John expressed an interest in becoming more involved with CURE SYNGAP1 as a volunteer. He is also a member of multiple advisory boards, including Alex’s Lemonade (childhood cancer research) and Hofstra Athletics. A 1977 graduate of Hofstra University with a BBA in Marketing Management, John lives with his wife Harriet on the North Jersey shore and feels very fortunate that their 2 children and 3 grandkids live nearby.
