Minnie Zhou

Minnie grew up in Canton province in China. Her family moved to the United States when she was 16. After attending college and graduate school in Chicago, Minnie worked as a registered nurse for 6 years before getting her doctorate in nursing, specializing in anesthesia.

Minnie is the mother of two – a 3-month-old baby and 6-year-old Hayden, diagnosed with SYNGAP1-Related Disorders. She also works full time as a Certified, Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist as well as being a liaison to the SynGAP community in China and Taiwan. “Life is hectic but I love my career and motherhood.”

In 2023, Minnie wrote this blog for SynGAP Research Fund – Low Dose Perampanel to Improve Cognition & Sleep in SYNGAP1.
