CURE SYNGAP1 Resource Mobilization Consultant
CURE SYNGAP1 State Ambassador, Texas
Chelsey Navarro is a Resource Mobilization Consultant with CURE SYNGAP1 and serves as the organization’s State Ambassador for Texas. Originally from Brownsville, Texas, Chelsey now lives in the Austin area with her husband, Anthony, and their two children, Emilia (Emmy) and Lucas (Luke).
Chelsey’s daughter, Emmy, was diagnosed with SYNGAP1-Related Disorders in June 2024 at the age of two. After Emmy’s diagnosis, Chelsey became closely involved with CURE SYNGAP1 and the SYNGAP1 community, first as a volunteer and later as a member of the organization’s staff.
In her role as Resource Mobilization Consultant, Chelsey works with families and supporters to bring fundraising ideas to life, organize community events, and help people find meaningful ways to support CURE SYNGAP1’s mission. She especially values the relationships within the SYNGAP1 community and believes one of the most important things families can do after diagnosis is find people who truly understand what they are walking through.
