Heather Mestemaker

Heather brings to SynGAP Research Fund over two and a half decades of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. She has spent her career as a Commercial leader in specialty and rare diseases, and her work has spanned the product lifecycle from development to commercialization to patent expiry. Heather has held senior leadership roles across the US and global realms and most recently served on GSK’s leadership team for Specialty Medicines as Vice President, Medicine Commercialization Lead for a rare liver asset. This wealth of experience has afforded her the opportunity to partner with SRF and to provide valuable insights into SRF areas of focus.

On the personal front, Heather obtained her education from the Hotchkiss School, Yale University, the Harvard School of Public Health, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.  Heather is the proud mom of 3 children, the youngest of whom was diagnosed with SYNGAP1 in 2016.  Heather, her husband, and children enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible, as well as spending family time and movie nights snuggled up with their Golden Retriever.
