For years, SynGAP Research Fund (SRF) dba Cure SYNGAP1 has encouraged rating and liking its podcasts on Apple or other platforms. “Why?”, you might ask. We’ve said it before, but now we’ll put it in writing. Ratings, likes, loves, and comments play a crucial role in helping SRF expand our reach, build credibility, and strengthen the connection with our audience.
Increased Visibility and Discoverability:
- Higher ratings and positive reviews can boost a podcast’s visibility within the Apple Podcasts platform. This can lead to increased discoverability by new listeners who are searching for podcasts related to SRF’s mission.
- Apple’s algorithms often prioritize podcasts with higher ratings, which can result in them being featured in “top charts” or “recommended” lists.
Enhanced Credibility and Trust:
- Positive ratings and reviews serve as social proof, demonstrating that the podcast is valuable and trustworthy. This is especially important for SRF, which relies on public trust and support.
- Potential donors and volunteers are more likely to engage with a non-profit that has a strong online presence and positive feedback.
Audience Engagement and Feedback:
- Ratings and reviews provide valuable feedback from listeners, allowing the SRF leadership to understand what resonates with the community and identify areas for improvement.
- Engaging with reviews, both positive and negative, can foster a sense of community and strengthen relationships with listeners.
Expanded Reach and Support:
- By increasing its podcast’s visibility, a non-profit can reach a wider audience and raise awareness of its mission.
- This can lead to increased support in the form of donations, volunteer sign-ups, and advocacy.
Strengthened Communication:
- Podcasting allows for a more personal level of communication with your audience.Positive reviews and ratings show that this form of communication is effective.

Please give us constructive feedback – these podcasts are meant to provide information and support to everyone in our community. If you like what you hear, let us know specifically what resonates with you. If you think we’re missing out on some topic or another, let us know what you’d like to see covered or mentioned. And if you don’t feel we deserve five stars, before you leave a lower rating, let us know what we can do better.
Most importantly, please listen when you can. We feel that each episode from these three distinct podcasts is important to at least a large segment of our community. We utilize many different means to provide information to you – podcasts, blogs, social posts, YouTube videos, webinars, family movies, Warrior Stories, and everything else on our website. We hope this variety of platforms will offer at least one way to reach every family, so we can make a difference in the lives of everyone in the SYNGAP1 community.
